Statement

Blue has been at the centre of my research since 2012.

Two miniature gold canvases on small easels in the studio, in front of a chart of blue swatches.
Canvas detail: flows and waves of ultramarine with flecks of gold.
Two blue portraits hung one above the other on a white wall.

Neither a mere colour nor an aesthetic effect, it has become an inner territory, a space between sky and ocean, between falling and rising.

Through oil painting, soft pastel, watercolour and film, I explore states of the soul: resilience, confrontation, rebirth. Blue acts as an emotional developer. It absorbs tension, amplifies silence and opens a passage towards introspection.

Female figures hold a central place. They are not models but archetypes: rising from the water, holding a gaze, accepting the storm. The body becomes a place of transformation.

Symbolism, Byzantine art and my Brazilian roots, in particular the figure of Yemanjá, feed this research. Water, golden light and the mirror sometimes set into the canvas open a dialogue between the work and the viewer.

Over time this exploration extended to film, then to the creation of the Bleu Paris Festival, a natural continuation of my research into this colour, this time through the eyes of other artists.

My work sits at the crossroads of painting, writing and cinema.

Blue is the common thread,
a space of resistance, memory and rebirth.
