The Twins

Year: 2026
Medium: Spray paint and oil on canvas
Dimensions: 7 × 7 cm
Price: €60
Status: Available

Two small sketches in miniature format on a gold ground. Alike, yet not alike: two variations of one face, sold together as a diptych.

Like all of Modka’s portraits on a gold ground, the work draws on Byzantine art, which the artist studied in art history at the Sorbonne: gold becomes sacred light, and blue the presence of the soul.
